Protect Your Organization: Get the facts on mobile insecurity

Oculis Labs performed a study of privacy and security for mobile workers that revealed some alarming trends.   Workers regularly access sensitive company information in public places like coffee shops and airports, and yet only 11% of these computers were protected against visual data leakage.   We found the top four data types exposed in public places to be:

  1. Corporate proprietary information (77 percent)
  2. Financial data (53 percent)
  3. Credit card information (52 percent)
  4. Social security numbers (32 percent)

With a forecast 1 billion mobile business and government workers in 2012, the risk of information leakage is significant.   Computer users were found to be generally aware of the risk, but the vast majority are unprotected.
